OUR PRIVACY POLICY-CURRENT AS OF 06/16/2026
The California Consumer Privacy Act aims to protect the consumer rights of California residents. The act serves to encourage stronger privacy for consumers and promote greater transparency for companies who have an online presence in the state.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT:
We collect personal information that may include your name, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, and any personal history details, such as family histories, mental, emotional or physical traumas, emergency contact numbers, or any relevant medical or psychiatric history you choose to provide us with. Accordingly, I will
take reasonable steps to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all personal and business information you may communicate to me in any form, in or out of the sessions. Except as provided below, I will not disclose your information to anyone without your expressed written consent. There is no legally privileged relationship between us. Therefore, you understand that I may share your information with or without your consent in the following circumstances:
(a) Required to comply with a valid subpoena or order from a court, law enforcement, or a
government agency;
(b) When I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be engaged in child abuse, elder
abuse, or human trafficking;
(c) When I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be in imminent danger, or about to
cause harm to yourself or others.
(d) When I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be engaged in criminal activity.
2. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION: We collect this data through our contact forms, intake forms, via text or email messages, and for any relevant purchase data or payment platform requirements to process payments for services or goods.
3. OUR PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION: This information is collected from you to help us provide the services and support that we offer as a business. We may also collect this information to add to our marketing with your permission, and to offer you support as a customer.
4. DETAILS OF DATA STORAGE AND SHARING: Any data that we collect and store from you and on your behalf is stored on our password protected phone and private computer with strong security components, and is not shared with third parties, except as required by law in cases of emergency. Payment information gathered for provision of our services or for purchases of goods will be communicated and stored via encrypted and HIPAA compliant communication platforms or in our password protected private computer with strong security components. One platform we use is Wix. Wix is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) compliant and is accredited as a level 1 service provider and merchant. This standard helps create a secure environment by increasing cardholder data, thus reducing credit card fraud. Wix regularly performs internal security audits to maintain their ISO/PCI security certifications. We also have high level security protection through ESET on our private computer.
5. OUR COMMUNICATION METHODS INCLUDING ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS: We communicate primarily with users via email, text, or directly by phone. We may also communicate via specific Apps, such as WhatsApp, Zoom, or other email or communication platforms. Please be aware that any or all electronic communications may not be secure in all circumstances and may be subject to unwanted disclosure. Thus, you agree that you will not hold me liable for any breach of third-party platforms or software, or for any disclosure by third-party platforms that is outside my control. Please notify me in writing if there are one or more means of communication that you prefer not to use.
6. SOCIAL MEDIA USE DISCLOSURES: Please be aware that I am active on social media as part of my business. I try in good faith to ensure that my social media activity does not violate your privacy or confidentiality. However, there is a risk that your identity as my client or your social media contact information might be revealed inadvertently through the settings that various social media apps use to connect people. By working with me, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept this risk. You will not hold me liable for any inadvertent violations of your privacy through social media. Please note that any social media apps you use may seek to connect you with me or with other clients of mine through a “people you may know” or similar feature. I have no control over apps that may intrude on your privacy in this way and you will not hold me liable for any breaches of your confidentiality that may occur. If you would like to minimize the risk of others becoming aware of your connection to me inadvertently, please make use of the privacy controls available on your social media apps. You can minimize your risk by turning off a social media app’s ability
to know your location, and refusing it access to your email, your contacts, and your history.
7. SMALL OR LARGE GROUP CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY: In general, I will respect the privacy of anything you may share during our group sessions and will not release your information without your consent. However, I am making no absolute promise of confidentiality. I may share your information when required to comply with a valid subpoena or legal government order, when I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be engaged in child abuse, elder abuse, or human trafficking, when I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be about to cause harm to yourself or others, or when I form a reasonable suspicion that you may be engaged in criminal activity. You will respect your fellow participants’ privacy and confidentiality in group sessions. You may be dismissed if you are disrespectful or if you violate another participant’s confidentiality. You also agree to hold me harmless should another participant violate your confidentiality. I will take reasonable steps to protect your contact and payment information and will release such information only with your permission or as required to comply with the law. In all other respects, I am making no promise of privacy or confidentiality.
8. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USAGE: I occasionally use AI-powered tools in my practice to help with tasks such as drafting documents, summarizing information, and creating content. When I use these tools, information may be processed by third-party technology companies. I do not intentionally share your name or identifying details with these tools, and I take reasonable precautions to protect your privacy. However, I want you to be aware that any information processed through third-party AI tools is subject to those companies’ own privacy policies, which are outside my control. You are welcome to ask me about specific tools I use or to discuss any concerns you have.
9. COOKIES AND TRACKING: Cookies and tracking tools used on our site are those specifically related to the hosting and running of our website by the WIX platforms for site statistics. We do not use cookies or other tracking tools separate from WIX.
10. OPTIONAL OPT-OUT AND WITHDRAWAL OPTIONS : If you have concerns about any of our data collection and sharing policies, or AI tools being used in connection with your information, you may withdraw your consent, or request data deletion, or opt out of data sharing such as marketing content you’ve previously given us at any time. I will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request and discuss any limitations that may create for our work together. We require 48 hours notice for this data deletion request, and will complete the request upon completion of a brief survey regarding such withdrawal.
11. UPDATES TO POLICY INFORMATION: We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time. Any changes will be updated on the website under this link. Users are required to review our policies on an as needed basis by clicking on the link in the site. If we decide to begin sharing your data other than what is specified in this policy, we will notify you beforehand.
